Is Berlin The Perfect City For Studying Abroad

Learning has been shown to be combined with travel to new destinations, whether for a short educational trip or a longer period of studying abroad. The challenge of adjusting to a different environment, alongside the fun of making new discoveries, can help students put their knowledge and skills to the test.  A celebrated world capital of culture and science, it provides a hugely beneficial environment for any student to advance their education in. With some of the most respected universities in the region, it is well suited to learning.

A City for Students

With four traditional universities and numerous 'Hochschulen' or technical colleges, Berlin is a popular destination for studying abroad, while its high student population means that many of its institutions and attractions are extremely student-friendly. The atmosphere of the city, meanwhile, is appealing to young people with its vibrancy and innovative culture. In between important educational outings, visiting students can enjoy the leisure activities available in this fun and youthful city - including a whole array of shopping opportunities. One of them, KaDeWe, is the biggest department store in Europe.

Art innovation

Berlin has wide appeal as a destination for studying abroad, and one of the areas in which it truly stands out is as a city of art. With its collection of world-class galleries - 420 in total - and its proud legacy in the development of several influential schools of early and modern art, Berlin is a place full of beauty and inspiration. The museum complex of the Kulturforum is especially worth visiting for works up to and including the 20th century, while the Hamburger Bahnhof showcases the best in contemporary art, and the influential Bahuas school has its own dedicated Archive.
